The last days are full of driving, driving, driving to get home. It’s hot, humid and if we’re all brutally honest, we just want to go home, sleep in our own beds, and get the hell away from each other.
During the long slog home, we reflected on what we enjoyed about this trip, what we missed about home, what annoyed us the most, and what we would do differently.
Augie
Liked the most: The Nullarbor Links Golf Course, riding around the campsites, drinking more soft drink than usual, hanging out with his cousins.
Missed the most: His friends and time alone
Annoyed by: the reversing noise of the campervan, the sound of the campervan's water pump.
Would do differently: Bring more books.
Griff
Liked the most: Seeing the different forms of public transport in different states, the water parks in SA, the Esperance scenic flight, hanging out with his cousins, the countless hours on his iPad
Missed the most: Lily the cat.
Annoyed by: setting up and packing up the bed, having to wear clean underwear/shower everyday.
Would do differently: Nothing
Sarah
Liked the most: the simplicity of being on holiday, not having to cook dinner that often, swimming in fresh water, skinny-dipping, the wildflowers in south-west WA, reading books and listening to podcasts, having a functional family to spend Christmas with, catching up with old friends.
Missed the most: a free washing machine and dryer (availability AND cost!)
Annoyed by: the persistence of the crappy weather in the first few weeks and trying to get anything dry, having to scramble for $1 and $2 coins for the laundry.
Would do differently: Shorter distances with more flexibility to accommodate the weather.

Liked the most: just being on holiday, with most of the trip planned in advance. Catching up on my podcasts, and shared listening of different Audible books with Sarah, Griff and Augie. Learning about all the different music that Augie has on his Spotify playlist! Other highlights would be the all the varied landscapes across Australia, but particularly the South of WA.
Missed the most: My bike.
Annoyed by: The windy/rainy weather we had for the first couple weeks. The van's crappy grey water valve.
Would do differently: Take my bike, and perhaps use a caravan instead?
